Wearable art on sale now!

I’m gearing up for my next release! That means I am putting what I have on sale up to 50% off! These are all one of a kind pieces that won’t be recreated. Check them out and get them while they are there!

Day 58
Day 51

My pendants are finally going into the electroform bath today! I am SO excited. After a year of experimentation, I will finally be able to release a real collection of jewelry. Each of these pieces encapsulates a little bit of my heart and soul. I can’t wait to share them with you!

Day 38

My tools and materials are seriously out of control. I make my own paints with traditional and non traditional pigments. So, I collect things to use in my paints. I also have a screen printing studio and I do electroforming. So there’s a lot more going on than what is in these photos. Once I finish organizing (I just moved my studio), I will do a video of the space!

Day 27

Last night I went to the monthly group meeting for the Photosynthesis Project. We are a group of professional artists and writers using photosynthesis as inspiration for our artwork. We meet each month to discus texts, images, and works in progress. In November we will display our artwork in a group exhibition. It is such an inspiring project, and I plan to talk more about it in the coming months.

Please let me know of any inspiring texts you may know that are centered around plants. I am going to set aside some time to read every day—something that has been difficult to do after having babies. I need to immerse myself in some inspiration, so it is time to make time.

I had a wonderful experience at the South Haven Art Fair on July 1st and 2nd! A lot of paintings went to new homes, and I met so many wonderful people and artists. I also won the Emerging Artist award, which was a huge surprise. I definitely plan on going back next year.

Studio Snap Shots

A few months ago I painted and re-organized part of my studio space. This is my "Clean Space", where I do my painting. My work space is actually located in five parts of my home. I also have an office, where I do all of my digital work and business. A dark room / print room, where I do all my photography and printmaking work. I have a room dedicated as a warehouse, where I store all my finished work. And a wood shop a.k.a. garage, where we do the framing. One day I will build a dedicated structure that will house all aspects of the business, and it is my dream to offer an apprenticeship program for artists.

A few photos from my newest series

I am really happy with how these turned out. The gilding (silver, gold, and copper leaf) is incredibly hard to capture in a photograph, and these photos do not do any of the pieces justice--but at least you can get an idea. The paintings are rather intricate, and fun to look at up close. The gilding pops from far away, and during different times of day. I love that an artwork can change with time. That seems to be a big part of what I am interested in.
